Gender in Simte

Descriptive analysis of animate gender markers, honorific polysemy, and grammatical classification

Simte lacks arbitrary grammatical gender; gender marking is determined semantically. While human beings take '-pa' (masc) and '-nu' (fem), animals select '-tal' (masc) and '-pi' (fem), alongside honorific extensions.
